Mr. Sushil Kumar Pandey is an educator and STEM mentor with over 24 years of experience in classrooms, laboratories and competition platforms. In August 2026, he joined the BCM Foundation as Head of STEAM Education. He now oversees STEAM initiatives across four BCM campuses: Focal Point, Sector 32-A, Basant Avenue, Dugri, and Basant City
Before joining BCM, Mr Sushil Kumar Pandey spent more than two decades at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s R. K. Sarda Vidya Mandir, Raipur and Chinmaya Vidyalaya, NTPC Unchahar. There he served as PGT Chemistry, Head of the Sciences Department, and STEM Mentor. As a Class XII Chemistry teacher, he guided students through the demands of the CBSE curriculum. He is also experienced in framing CBSE-pattern question papers and marking schemes.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Sushil Kumar Pandey has long mentored students in building research and innovation profiles. These profiles help them compete for admission to leading universities worldwide, particularly in the United States. He is deeply familiar with the IRIS/ISEF ecosystem, INSPIRE MANAK, the Breakthrough Junior Challenge, and a wide range of Indian and international STEM programmes. His work covers competition mentorship, college counselling, teacher capacity-building, and facilitation of professional development workshops. He guides students from the first spark of an idea through problem definition, research design, prototyping and presentation.
In 2021, Mr. Sushil Kumar Pandey co-founded TEDxYouth@BVBRaipur, giving young people a stage for ideas worth sharing. He went on to organise the TEDxBVB Raipur Youth chapter in 2024 and 2025. At the third edition in December 2023, he delivered his own talk, "The Ripple Effect of Mentorship."
Mr. Sushil Kumar Pandey believes that STEAM is not a set of subjects but a way of thinking. Science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics belong together when students tackle real problems in their communities. For him, the teacher's role is to move from delivering answers to asking better questions. A good mentor's influence, he says, continues well beyond the student's school years, spreading like ripples.
